Veneers and crowns: one trip, 5-7 days. Implants: two trips, 3-5 days for surgery, 3-6 months of healing at home, then 5-7 days for the crown. All-on-4 is two trips but you leave the first with fixed temporary teeth. Bone grafting adds 4-6 months. Do not book flights before the plan is agreed, and leave a spare day at the end.
"How many times will I have to fly?" is the question that decides whether treatment in Turkey is practical for you โ more often than price does. The honest answer depends entirely on what you need: veneers and crowns are one trip, implants are usually two, and a full-arch reconstruction is two trips several months apart. This guide gives the real timelines, the days you need on the ground, and what happens in the gap.

These are treatment timelines, not marketing ones. Any clinic promising permanent implant crowns in a single week for a standard case is either using an immediate-load protocol that must be explained to you, or cutting a corner you will pay for later.
Day 1 โ examination, X-rays or CT, photographs, digital smile design, agreeing the shape and shade. Nothing irreversible happens on day one.
Day 2 โ preparation of the teeth and temporaries fitted. You leave with teeth, never gaps.
Days 3-5 โ laboratory work. Your time is free; most patients spend it in รlรผdeniz or on a boat trip.
Day 5 or 6 โ try-in. The unglazed restorations are tried, and shape or shade is adjusted before final firing.
Day 6 or 7 โ final cementation and a bite check.
Seven days is comfortable; five is possible for a small case but leaves no room for an adjustment. Book the return flight for the day after the planned fitting, not the same evening.
An implant is a titanium screw that has to fuse with bone, a process called osseointegration. That takes three to six months and cannot be shortened by paying more. The sequence is:
Trip 1 (3-5 days): examination, CT scan, implant placement, healing caps. Sutures come out after 7-10 days and your own dentist at home or our online follow-up can handle that.
The gap (3-6 months): you are at home, living normally. If the gap is visible, you leave with a temporary bridge or denture.
Trip 2 (5-7 days): abutments, impressions, laboratory work, final crown fitted.
Lower jaw bone fuses faster than upper jaw bone, so lower implants are often ready at three months and upper at five to six.
In selected cases with enough bone quality, implants can be placed and a fixed temporary bridge screwed on the same day. You still return for the permanent bridge, but you never go without teeth. This is the standard protocol for All-on-4. It is not suitable for everyone and depends on a measurement taken during surgery, so no honest clinic can guarantee it before examining your CT scan. We explain candidacy in our same-day implants guide.
If you have been told there is not enough bone, a graft or sinus lift is done first and has to heal for four to six months before implants go in. That turns a two-trip plan into three, or into two trips with a longer gap if the graft and implant can be done together. This is decided from the CT scan, not from photographs. See sinus lift and bone grafting.
Fethiye is 50 minutes from Dalaman airport, which has direct flights from across the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and, seasonally, Bratislava and Prague. That matters more than it sounds: a direct flight into Dalaman turns a treatment week into a manageable trip, while routing through Istanbul adds most of a day at each end.
Book the flight after the treatment plan is agreed, not before. The plan sets the number of days.
Leave one spare day at the end. Laboratories occasionally need a remake, and a spare day turns a crisis into an inconvenience.
Avoid flying within 24 hours of implant surgery or a sinus lift. Cabin pressure and a fresh sinus membrane are a poor combination.
Tell us your flight times before you arrive. Appointments are built around them, not the other way round.
You are not on your own in the gap. You have direct WhatsApp contact with the coordinator who handled your case, photographs are reviewed remotely if anything worries you, and if a temporary comes loose, any local dentist can re-cement it in minutes โ we send the instructions. Nothing in the healing period requires you to be in Turkey.
