Dental treatment in Fethiye typically costs a third to a half of UK private prices in 2026: an implant starts at 500 EUR plus a 200 to 350 EUR zirconia crown, against £2,000 to 3,000 privately in the UK, and an E-max veneer is 280 to 400 EUR against £600 to 1,200. Why UK patients look abroad in 2026

NHS charges in England are low: £27.90 for Band 1, £76.60 for Band 2 and £332.10 for Band 3 from April 2026, which covers crowns, bridges and dentures in one course of treatment. The problem is access, not price. In many areas practices are not taking new adult NHS patients, and the NHS does not provide implants or cosmetic veneers at all except in rare clinical cases. Fethiye suits patients who want a quieter base than Istanbul or Antalya. Dalaman airport is 45 to 60 minutes from the clinic, the town is small enough to walk, and the days between appointments can be spent in Ölüdeniz or on a boat rather than in traffic.

Our prices are per unit and in EUR, and they are fixed in a written plan before you book a flight. The range within each line depends on the implant brand, the ceramic and whether preparatory work such as a root canal or a bone graft is needed. If your NHS dentist can do a Band 3 course and you are happy with a metal-based crown on a back tooth, that is cheaper than any trip.

Add the cost of time off work and, in July and August, higher flight prices. A single implant is the borderline case: two trips eat most of the saving unless other teeth are treated at the same time.

Getting to Fethiye from the UK

• London Gatwick, Stansted and Luton: seasonal direct flights to Dalaman, roughly April to October, with easyJet, Jet2 and TUI. Flight time is about 4 hours.

• Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and other regional airports: seasonal direct routes, with fewer weekly departures.

• Winter: fly to Istanbul and connect to Dalaman, about 1 hour 15 minutes on the domestic leg.

Documents, insurance and money: a checklist

• Passport: the FCDO says a British passport must be valid for at least 150 days after the date you arrive in Turkey and have a blank page.

• Visa: British citizens with a full British citizen passport can stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Other British passport types need one.

• GHIC and EHIC: not valid in Turkey. Take travel insurance with medical cover, and tell the insurer you are travelling for dental treatment. Many standard policies exclude planned treatment abroad and its complications, so read the wording or choose a policy that covers medical travel.

• Your records: ask your UK dentist for recent X-rays and notes; you are entitled to a copy of your records. Bring a list of medicines, especially blood thinners, and tell us about diabetes, heart conditions or bisphosphonates in advance.

• Payment and paperwork: the quote is in EUR. Ask for an itemised invoice that names the implant brand and the ceramic, and keep it with your guarantee document.

Choosing a clinic safely

Price is the easy part to compare. What separates a good result from a bad one is what happens before anyone touches a tooth. Before you pay a deposit, you should have in writing: the name of the dentist who will treat you, the tooth-by-tooth plan, the materials and implant brand, the price per unit and the guarantee terms. Be wary of any plan that crowns healthy teeth for cosmetic reasons, or that promises a full set of veneers in two or three days. If something goes wrong you do not need to fly first. Send photographs and, where useful, an X-ray from a local dentist; most problems are assessed remotely within a day. If a remake is needed, the laboratory work is scheduled so the trip is usually three to four days. Small adjustments that need no laboratory can often be done by a dentist near you with our instructions.

Keep a dentist at home, NHS or private, for check-ups and a hygiene visit every six months, and send us the report. Tell them what was done and show them the guarantee document and the material list. Wear the night guard if one was made for you; it protects ceramic work more than anything else.

When it is not worth travelling

• You need one filling, one crown or a check-up, and you can get it locally, on the NHS or privately.

• You can get an NHS Band 3 course for the work you need and are content with the materials it offers.

• You have untreated gum disease. That is treated first, wherever the rest of the work is done.

• You cannot take five to seven days off, or two trips for implants.

• Your teeth are healthy and you want a large cosmetic change. We will usually suggest whitening, bonding or a smaller number of veneers instead of crowning sound teeth.

• A medical condition means surgery should happen near your own doctors and hospital.
