Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a computer-based technique that designs your smile result based on your facial proportions and dental structure — before treatment begins. It's the first step for veneers, crowns, implants, and Hollywood Smile. DSD is free at Smile & Holiday.
Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a technique where your facial structure, lip line, dental proportions, and facial symmetry are analysed to digitally design your treatment outcome. Using specialised software, a simulation of your new smile is created on your actual photos.
With DSD, you see results before treatment begins. If you don't like something, the design is modified. Treatment only starts when you're fully satisfied. This is the cornerstone of modern cosmetic dentistry.
Photos are taken from 12 different angles. An intraoral scanner creates digital impressions. Facial proportions, lip line, gum levels, and smile arc are measured.
DSD software calculates ideal tooth dimensions, shapes, and positions. Multiple smile designs matching your facial proportions are created. Tooth colour, gum level, and lip harmony are simulated.
Designs are presented to you. Changes can be made instantly. Treatment never starts without your approval.
Get a free DSD plan with photo-based simulation and a 3D mock-up, so you can approve tooth shape, shade and smile line before any veneers, crowns or implants begin.
A physical mock-up is placed in your mouth using temporary material so you can experience your new smile on your actual teeth before committing.
The approved design is sent to the laboratory. Your treatment — whether veneers or crowns — follows this digital blueprint.
Laminate veneers: The most common use case for tooth shape and colour
Zirconium crowns: Aesthetic planning for full set crowns
Hollywood Smile: DSD is essential for Hollywood Smile
Implant prostheses: Aesthetic planning of implant positioning
Smile Makeover: Coordinated planning of multiple treatments
Teeth whitening: Determining target shade
