Teeth Whitening in Turkey: 2026 Costs, Options and Whether the Trip Is Worth It
Whitening at our clinic in Fethiye costs 150 to 400 EUR (about £130 to £350) for any of the options, against typically £350 to £700 for in-chair whitening privately in the UK; the NHS does not offer it. In-office whitening is one visit of 60 to 90 minutes, trays take two days to make. Crowns, veneers and fillings do not whiten, and we do not whiten during pregnancy or under 18. A trip only for whitening usually costs more than it saves; on a holiday or alongside other treatment it is one morning's appointment.
Teeth whitening at our clinic in Fethiye costs 150 to 400 EUR (about £130 to £350) for a complete treatment, against typically £350 to £700 for in-chair whitening at a UK private practice and £400 to £800 for in-chair whitening combined with take-home trays. An in-office session is one visit of 60 to 90 minutes and includes the examination, shade measurement before and after, gum protection, the whitening gel cycles and written aftercare. Whitening is not available on the NHS, so every UK quote is private. On its own it is rarely worth a flight, because the saving is smaller than the trip. Added to veneers, crowns or a holiday you are taking on the Turquoise Coast anyway, it is one of the simplest treatments to fit in.

At our clinic all of these options fall within 150 to 400 EUR, about £130 to £350. The exact price for the method chosen for your teeth is stated in your written treatment plan before you travel. Pound figures are converted at roughly 0.87 GBP per euro; we invoice in euros, so the pound amount moves with the exchange rate. UK figures are typical 2026 private ranges; London sits at the top.
How much is teeth whitening in Turkey, and what does the price include?
At our clinic the price covers:
The examination. Teeth and gums are checked first. Whitening a tooth with an open cavity, a leaking filling or inflamed gums causes pain and poor results, so these are dealt with before any gel goes on.
Shade measurement with a shade guide and photographs, before and after, so you can see the change objectively rather than by memory.
Gum and lip protection with a light-cured barrier and cheek retractor.
The whitening itself: usually three to four gel cycles of 15 to 20 minutes in one visit, or the trays and gel for home use.
A desensitising application at the end and written aftercare instructions.
What can be extra: a professional clean if there is tartar or heavy staining (whitening works far better on clean enamel), treatment of any decay found at the examination, and replacing old front fillings or crowns that will no longer match once the natural teeth are lighter. If any of these are needed, they are listed separately in your written plan.
A word on safety and law. In the UK, tooth whitening may only be carried out by a dentist, or by a dental hygienist or therapist on a dentist's prescription. Products sold to the public may contain no more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide, dental products are capped at 6%, and whitening is not permitted on anyone under 18. Whitening in beauty salons and kiosks is therefore illegal in the UK. Wherever you are treated, whitening belongs in a dental clinic, after an examination, carried out by a dentist. That is how we do it in Fethiye, and it is a fair question to ask any clinic: who performs the whitening, and which gel is used.
In-office whitening: Zoom, LED and laser explained
In-office whitening, also called in-chair or power whitening, is what most people mean by "Zoom teeth whitening in Turkey". Philips Zoom is a brand of LED-activated whitening system; other clinics use comparable LED or laser systems. The visit runs like this:
Check and preparation: examination, a polish to remove surface film, and the starting shade recorded.
Protection: a retractor keeps the lips and cheeks away, and a protective resin is cured over the gum line.
Gel cycles: the whitening gel is applied to the visible teeth, usually the front eight to ten in each jaw, and activated with the lamp. Each cycle lasts 15 to 20 minutes; most treatments use three or four cycles.
Finish: the gel is removed, a desensitising agent applied, and the final shade recorded next to the starting shade.
Does the light make a difference? Less than the marketing suggests. Systematic reviews that compared in-office whitening with and without a light have generally found that the light adds little to the final shade; the gel, the contact time and your natural starting colour matter far more. A laser is a light source, not a different chemistry, so "laser whitening" and "Zoom whitening" give similar results. If you have searched for "zoom teeth whitening cost in Turkey" or "Philips Zoom teeth whitening in Turkey", the honest answer is that it sits in the same 150 to 400 EUR range as the other in-office options at our clinic.
Whitening trays in Turkey: take-home whitening
Take-home whitening uses thin, custom-made trays that fit your teeth exactly, filled with a lower-strength whitening gel and worn at home. It is slower than an in-office session but often reaches a similar result, with less sensitivity for many people. It also fits a short trip well:
Day 1: examination and a digital scan of both jaws. No impression trays are needed.
Day 2 or 3: the trays are ready. We check the fit, show you how much gel to use and how long to wear them, and give you the gel to take home.
At home: you wear the trays daily for one to three weeks, as instructed.
The trays are yours to keep, which is their main advantage. A short top-up of a few nights every six to twelve months keeps the shade stable for years. Refill gel is supplied by dentists, including your own dentist at home. Trays only fit while your teeth stay the same: a new crown or orthodontic movement means a new set. Custom trays are not the same as shop-bought strips or "one size" trays, which in the UK may legally contain only 0.1% hydrogen peroxide and fit poorly, so the gel touches the gums more than the teeth.
Combined whitening, an in-office session followed by one or two weeks with trays, gives the most even and stable result and is what we usually suggest for patients who want the full effect from one visit.
What results to expect
Professional whitening typically makes teeth several shades lighter on the shade guide. How far depends on the starting colour and the type of staining:
Yellow and yellow-brown teeth, from age, coffee, tea, red wine or smoking, respond best.
Grey or blue-grey teeth, including tetracycline staining, respond slowly and unevenly.
White spots and fluorosis can look more noticeable for a few days after whitening, then usually blend in as the teeth rehydrate.
Whitening gives a natural white: your own teeth, lighter. It will not produce the uniform bright shade of a veneer smile, and it does not change shape, gaps or chips. If that is the goal, our teeth whitening vs veneers comparison sets out when each makes sense.
Who is a good candidate, and who should not whiten
Good candidates are adults with healthy teeth and gums whose teeth have yellowed with age or staining, who want their own teeth lighter rather than replaced.
Whitening is not suitable, or should wait, if:
Your front teeth have crowns, veneers, bonding or large white fillings. These do not change colour. After whitening, the natural teeth around them will be lighter and the restorations will look darker, so they may need replacing to match. We plan for this before whitening, not after.
You have untreated decay, leaking fillings or gum disease. These are treated first.
You have exposed roots, receding gums, cracks or strong sensitivity. Root surfaces do not whiten and sensitivity can be marked; a gentler tray protocol or no whitening may be better.
You are pregnant or breastfeeding. There is not enough safety data, so we postpone whitening until afterwards.
You are under 18. We do not whiten minors.
A single tooth has darkened after a root canal or injury. External whitening will not reach it; internal bleaching of that one tooth, or a veneer or crown, is the right approach.
Your staining is deep grey or banded. Whitening may disappoint; composite bonding or veneers are often more predictable.
Is it worth flying to Turkey just for teeth whitening?
Usually not, and we would rather say so here than after you have booked. The figures below compare a typical UK private price for combined whitening (£600, the middle of the £400 to £800 range) with our price taken at the upper end, 350 EUR or about £300, and £400 for a return flight to Dalaman plus three hotel nights.

The pattern is simple. Whitening is a one-visit treatment that costs less than a flight, so it pays only when the travel is already happening. Swimming and sunbathing are not restricted after whitening, and our treatment timeline guide shows how one or two days for whitening fit into a longer stay.
Whitening with veneers, crowns or bonding: get the order right
Restorations are made to match the teeth next to them, and they keep that colour for good. That is why whitening comes first and the shade of any new veneer, crown or bonding is chosen afterwards. Two practical points:
The shade settles over about two weeks. Freshly whitened teeth look slightly lighter at first and settle a little as they rehydrate.
Bonding to freshly whitened enamel is weaker for the first one to two weeks. Composite bonding on whitened teeth is therefore best done on a later visit, or after you have whitened at home well before the trip.
With veneers, the teeth being covered do not need whitening; what matters is that the teeth left uncovered, usually the lower front teeth, match. We plan this sequence in the written treatment plan. Prices for veneers are in our veneers cost guide, and the guide to "Turkey teeth" explains why healthy, straight teeth often need only whitening rather than veneers at all.
Aftercare: the first 48 hours and the years after
For 48 hours, avoid strongly coloured food and drink: coffee, black tea, red wine, cola, curry, tomato sauce, berries, beetroot and soy sauce. Do not smoke. Water, milk, white fish, chicken, rice and pasta are fine.
Sensitivity is common and short-lived, usually 24 to 48 hours. A sensitive toothpaste with potassium nitrate, ideally started a week before whitening, helps. Avoid very cold drinks for a day.
Keep the result with a hygiene visit every six months and, if you have trays, a short top-up every six to twelve months. Drinking coffee or tea through a straw and rinsing with water afterwards makes a real difference.
Our full aftercare guidance covers whitening and other treatments.
How it works with us in Fethiye
Send a few photographs of your smile in daylight through the consultation form, and mention any crowns, veneers or fillings on your front teeth. Dr. Mustafa Besli, who has practised aesthetic dentistry and implantology for over 15 years, reviews them, and you receive a written plan with the recommended method and price before you book. Whitening itself takes one visit, or two days if trays are made. Dalaman airport is about 45 to 60 minutes from the clinic, and if whitening is part of a longer treatment it is scheduled on the day that suits the rest of the plan. Whether whitening suits your teeth is checked at the examination, and the written plan states what will be done and its price. More details on the method itself are on our teeth whitening treatment page.
